Description
At once a radical proposal and a very funny indictment of heterocentrism, Manifeste Contra-Sexuel follows in the deconstructionist footsteps of such gender philosophers as Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida and Monique Wittig. Preciado, one of queer theory’s singular new voices, offers here the first official manifesto of the “queer generation”, a fringe group of the militant gay and lesbian community who are against the “standardizing effects of sexual identity”. Primary spokesperson for this movement, Preciado demands an “end to sexual organs”, inciting readers to renounce the gender bonds assigned to them by society.
