A Doctor of Anthropology and History, Maria Victoria Uribe is currently director of the Colombia Institute of History and Anthropology in Bogota. She teaches at the University of the Andes. Her most recent research compares founding myths of three major liberation groups: Sri Lanka’s Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the Irish Liberation Army (IRA).
